Andrea se durmió, como todas las noches, con su amada Pelusa a su lado, ronroneando. Cuando despertó, enseguida saltó del susto Pelusa estaba gigante, tan gigante, que había destruido gran parte de su hogar. Aunque se trataba de su amada mascota, Andrea llegó a la conclusión de que la mejor opción que tenía era la de correr, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta el mal humor con que solía despertar Pelusa, debido al hambre que tenía y que no lograba satisfacer con nada. Andrea temía que su gata la devorara.
Al ver que su gata se lanzaba hacia ella decidió salir de su cuarto desesperada, pero al llegar a la puerta esta se encontraba con seguro porque la noche anterior su mamá se le olvido quitarlo. Angustiada empieza a golpear la puerta, pero esta no abre y nadie la escucha, ni siquiera la mamá que tiene la habitación al lado de la de ella. Al estar aterrorizada Andrea por la situación empieza a observar su alrededor y ve que la ventana está abierta pero no sabía cómo cruzar, pues Pelusa se encontraba frente a ella. De pronto recordó los instantes en que se pasaba horas jugando con su amada mascota con las bolas de lana y procedió a lanzarle unas para que ella jugara y así Andrea poder escapar por la ventana. Cuando la niña lanzó la bola de lana, pelusa empezó a jugar con esta. Sin embargo, al ver que su ama pretendía escapar salto sobre ella y rasgo su pijama, Andrea apenas iba llegando a la ventana.
Después de estos empieza a forcejear con la gata para no permitir que se la comiera, en este dilema se resbala y medio cuerpo queda fuera de la ventana, cuando está a punto de caer y ve que la gata se lanza contra ella. Grita desesperada “PELUSA”, ¿ERES TÚ? . De inmediato despierta y se da cuenta que solo era una pesadilla debido a la imaginación y el cuento de terror que le había contado su abuelo en la tarde.
Andrea decidió huir del hogar pues estaba destruido. Salió despavorida buscando refugio de su nueva i gigante mascota. Para su sorpresa encontró, que otras mascotas también habían aumentado su tamaño.
Andrea sintió latir su corazón a gran velocidad, Su cuerpo se estremecía debido a la fuerte impresión que le había causado esta novedad. ¿Qué ha pasado? ¿En qué momento sucedió todo esto?. En medio de su recorrido encontró otras personas en su misma situación Y decidió indagar junto a ellos cuales serían las posibles causas que hicieron que las mascotas aumentaran de tamaño.
Una de ellas afirmó que por primera vez su mascota había salido a la calle i había regresado un poco extraña, había dormido toda la tarde i al despertar solo tomó agua. Otra afirmó que su mascota se mantuvo aislada la tarde anterior i solamente había consumido agua por la noche. Todos coincidieron en que el día anterior sus mascotas salían extrañas de sus jardines; unos saltaban, otros durmieron a horarios poco usuales, otros se entristecieron.
Todos ellos deciden que la mejor solución era buscar a un experto, enseguida piensan un veterinario, para que sea el quien ayude a solucionar el problema. Salen todos corriendo a buscarlo le comentan la situación, i el les dice que enseguida hay que tomarle una muestra de sangre a algunos de los afectados.
Aquí comienza la aventura: ¿Cómo tomarle la muestra, Si todos eran gigantes? sus dueños estaban llenos de temor ,no sabían cómo iban a reaccionar sus mascotas ante esa prueba . Entonces allí Andrea recuerda que al agarrarle la patica a Pelusa, ella se tranquiliza es mas dócil, enseguida otra persona implicada dice: ¡la mía le encanta que le acaricien la cabeza¡, pero recuerda que no la puede alcanzar, porque ahora su perro es gigante ¿Cómo subirse para sobarle la cabeza?; entonces buscaron escaleras, las unieron, pero se desarmaron, crearon varias estrategias, pero ninguna funciono. Fue en ese momento cuando el veterinario sugirió tirarle un dardo para dormirlo i poderle sacar la muestra con tranquilidad. Es así cuando todos dormiditos, el medico procede a sacarle la muestra de sangre, la mandan al laboratorio para ser examinadas ver la causa de semejante transformación.
Luego de pasar cuatro horas de intriga, zozobra, desespero, Andrea se comía sus uñas de solo pensar que perdería a Pelusa, a que con este cambio no podría continuar viviendo con ella. En ese momento suena la sirena i todos salen corriendo a ver el tan esperado resultado del laboratorio, para su desconcierto todo estaba normal, no encontraron la causa de extraño evento.
Al transcurrir el día las mascotas fueron despertándose i la reacción secundaria fue que estos se volvieron a agresivos, debido a la mezcla del tranquilizante con la sustancia desconocida. Allí empieza el caos cuando el perro se ensaña contra pelusa i se forma la trifulca. Todos gritaban desesperados, unos lloraban, los perros ladraban, los gatos maullaban, la sirena sonaba i la noche avanzaba. Entonces en medio de la pelea el perro se lanza contra pelusa, sacándola con un golpetazo contra la pared i esta al recibir el fuerte impacto sobre su vientre expulsa una sustancia negra i enseguida regresa a su estado normal. Al descubrir todos que la solución era hacerle vomitar, todos comienzan a golpear a sus mascotas para hacerles expulsar ese detestable líquido; fue así como todo regresaron a la normalidad i pelusa regresa a los brazos de su amada dueña i Andrea al verla dormida en sus brazos, la caricia tiernamente, aprieta contra su pecho le dice: ¡ SI ERES TU MI PELUSA, MI MASCOTA HERMOSA! FIN….
