Eran las 7 de la mañana y el olor del café, el jugo de naranja, los huevos y panqueques inundaban el apartamento. Hikari contemplaba con calma unos azulejos que cantaban, postrados en el árbol de afuera. De vez en cuando se le venían como flashes las imágenes de la pelea de cuchillos que había tenido el día anterior. De repente los azulejos se espantaron por algún motivo, tal vez tras sentir la mirada de Hikari, y éste empezaba a sentir claustrofobia en su pequeño apartamento.
Caminó hasta la entrada para buscar su abrigo y en ese instante escucha como se rompe el vidrio de la ventana por la cual miraba. Cuando voltea, un ninja con dos cuchillos enormes, brillantes y afilados. Hikari busca un arma a sus alrededores pero no encuentra ninguna. Entonces el ninja, vestido de negro, ataca. Hikari lanza una patada que aterriza en el pecho del ninja.
Éste, por la potencia del golpe, sale lanzado hasta la mesa donde hace unos segundos había estado sentado Hikari, derribando platos y vasos de vidrio que rompían. Hikari se acercó y levantó su pierna con el fin de rematar con el talón, en forma de hacha, pero el oponente esquivó el golpe y la mesa de madera en que se apoyaba quedó vuelto añicos.
Entonces su oponente le lanzó una patada desde el suelo, haciendo a Hikari perder su equilibrio, hasta caer al suelo. Solo fue un segundo el que tuvo para ubicar a su adversario y detener el filoso cuchillo, justo antes de que perforara su ojo. Ahora se trataba de una lucha de mucha fuerza y concentración, para intentar despojar a su adversario del arma. El hecho era que tenía la posición desfavorable, pero algo dentro de él le decía que iba a salir de esta.
Entonces Hikari sacó fuerzas de donde no tenía y lo lanzó contra una ventana. Pelearon como grandes guerreros, destruyendo las sillas, las alcobas, los floreros, cuadros y todo lo que se les atravesara a su paso. Ya agotado, sudoroso y sin fuerzas Hikari logró despojar al enemigo de su arma y le puso el cuchillo en el cuello. Entonces le dijo al Ninja que se marchara pero éste no se quería rendir y lo engañó al decirle que se marcharía, pero que le quitara el cuchillo del cuello. Hikari lo dudó pero se lo quitó y el Ninja lo atacó de nuevo, lanzándole arena en los ojos lo cual no lo dejaba ver.
Pero Hikari sabía de artes marciales y se acordó de un viejo sabio que lo había entrenado para luchar sin ver. Al comienzo se sintió inferior pero la mente es poderosa y logró ganar una gran batalla. Hikari no lo quería matar y le dijo que se marchara, que no volviera nunca, porque si volvía a enfrentarlo no le perdonaría la vida. Él solo quería sentir de nuevo ese aroma a café , quería sentirse bueno y no aterrorizar a los azulejos, ni a nadie. Quería que no le sintieran miedo, solo quería tener poder y que lo respetaran.
Minutos más tarde el ninja decidió marcharse, llevando consigo sus afilados cuchillos. Días después volvió a encontrarse con el viejo sabio que lo hizo cambiar de mentalidad al sugerirle que se acercara a Dios para que le perdonara todos los errores que había cometido en el pasado. Hikari se tranquilizó, se le quito la mirada de terror, ese temor obsesivo ante los recintos o espacios limitados que se estaba convirtiendo en una enfermedad. Entonces imaginó que su apartamento era un lugar mágico lleno de árboles, con la naturaleza por todas partes, donde podría nuevamente contemplar y escuchar el lindo canto de los azulejos.
